Debuting five days after her thirteenth birthday in December 2000, Lavinia "Vinnie" Valeriana or "The Raveness" is a Stratford-on-Avon born Leamington Spa self-made avant-garde musician, (dark-romantic) confessional diarist and artisan. At six-years-old, she started the self-teaching of various arts, including entirely handcrafted sculpture and textiles using Eighteenth-century techniques. Completely deaf in her right ear, the Warwickshire bohemian is Italian-Catalan-Argentine and Welsh-Breton, through latin-celt ethnicity, raised in and from the ward of Clarendon with an itinerant upbringing also across heritage lands. This required home-schooling and self-tutoring.
Vinnie grew up intrigued by local icons such as Will Shakespeare and Aleister Crowley, whose occult themes and amorous views lit a fire in her belly with her interest peaked predominantly by Dante Alighieri with his invention of La Divina Commedia, when in Italy. Writing diaries came after being seduced by Casanova's Histoire de Ma Vie, which also inspired her autodidacticism, open-mindedness, and limitless exploration lacking interest in acceptance or social status. All for being oneself with an uncustomary poetical and very characteristical literary technique, the Leamingtonian did publish her first volume of confessions at age eighteen in January 2006, quotes of her verse are in the books of best-selling authors, as-well-as inspiring others, and numerous have inspired her.

Adrift in Acheron, The Confessions of a Leamingtonian (book one in a new series) is the fourth diary that unveils revelations of Valeriana's deep and vastly dark-romantic motivations in Leamington Spa, and around Warwickshire. In true Lavinia-style, it is unconventional, forthright and, as all poetry works are, deliberately cryptic.
Valeriana is a great believer in adhering to self and artistic integrity whether it be in realism or surrealism. An album of intimate songs or comedic (history-based) spoken word, or immersive instrumental is always released regardless of acceptability or attaining an ideal.
At first, the classically self-trained Lavinia did experiment and document emotions and thoughts with a small vintage harpsichord, audio engineering and later expanded to other instruments, and is distinguished for an (oft) antiqued presentation. Despite being considered a Classical artist, she is not wholly smitten with the genre (or any for that matter). Vinnie recites only the composers that speak to her, notwithstanding the composing of original works influenced by an infinity of records.
Listeners note her riskiness with vocals (including cawing, wailing and growling) accompanied by overdrive or distortion keys, and (at times) aqueous orchestration. As one who is blatantly introverted and social media reluctant, she prefers obscurity but has (unintentionally) gained global success for near two decades in spite of just counting her third, alone and with a nonchalant shrug to the mainstream rituals.
